Port of Tilbury (London)
Tilbury is the UK’s main import location for a diverse range of forest products. We provide handling, storage and distribution services for a number of customers and have excellent links throughout the supply chain including with various shipping lines, importers, merchants and distributers.
We are able to handle breakbulk, container and ro-ro services complete with devanning and shunting options within our 1.2 million square feet of storage and distribution areas.
Our key trade areas include the Baltics, Scandinavia, Far East, Africa and the Americas. We handle a wide range of commodities including; sheet materials, specialist timber products, doors, mouldings and have a wood treatment plant located within the port.
Forth Ports Scotland
Our ports offer customers a wide range of facilities to handle a full spectrum of products in any format from both containerised and breakbulk cargoes.
Forth Ports Grangemouth’s dedicated forest products terminal offers devanning, loading, warehousing and stock management services using a modern fleet of forklift trucks. Capitalising on the port’s central location, Scotland’s principal timber suppliers benefit from excellent onward transportation links.
Forth Ports Dundee has been a forest product specialist for over 35 years and offers a significant timber terminal, which has been extended to provide a full timber treatment site for our customers. Service levels are consistently high and our customers regularly report lower damage rates for their forest products when benchmarking Dundee against other UK and European ports.
Fife Ports Methil operates as an important hub for a major timber importer, who brings in over 30,000 tonnes of timber annually through the port. We provide cargo handling, stock management and a pick and pack service for onward deliveries to their customers. Burntisland handles timber imports for a tenant and there is scope to handle more 3rd party volumes here.
