Grangemouth is home to Scotland’s largest container terminal and reefer facility handling over 250,000 TEUs each year. The port works with all major deep sea shipping lines, as well as European short sea, multimodal and tank operators. This broad range of customers is serviced by 7 weekly feeder vessel calls linking Scotland with worldwide deep sea markets and European and Baltic short sea destinations. Our efficient, highly trained and qualified team have the skills, experience and machinery on hand to safely, efficiently and speedily handle your cargo needs. As part of our multi-million pound investment programme at Grangemouth we have extended storage lanes for conventional and refrigerated containers, improved access to landside and shipside operations and fully automated container weighing. Our ISPS accredited port operates 24/7, 365 days a year to get your goods where they need to be, exactly when they need to be there.

Shipping in and out of Grangemouth delivers proven green economic benefits. Linking directly to the commercial heartlands of Scotland, our portcentric approach reduces double handling and unnecessary road miles creating significant savings in logistics costs and improved environmental benefits for our customers. We provide cost effective cargo handling, warehousing, storage and portcentric solutions to customers who want to move goods efficiently. At Grangemouth we work with and support a range of industries including food and drink, chemicals, agriculture, recycling, FMCG, construction, oil and gas and renewables, all of which are serviced via dedicated and multiuser facilities which cater for containers, bulks, forest products, liquids and project cargoes. With experience in handling a wide variety of unitised and non-unitised goods and out of gauge cargo handling capabilities, we offer a one-stop sustainable logistics solution.

We offer a weekly rail link between the Port of Grangemouth and the Port of Tilbury in partnership with Direct Rail Services and Eddie Stobart. With a capacity of 36 containers in each direction, the rail service provides Forth Ports’ customers with a cost effective and sustainable means of moving goods between ports while benefitting from reduced carbon emissions without using the already congested UK road network. This new service highlights our commitment to providing sustainable and cost-effective logistics solutions for our customers, helping them to grow and increasing their competitiveness in the supply chain.
